If you have need to make pictures of something you see on your screen,
Vista comes with a Snipping Tool that is very easy to use and works
better than anything else I have seen. In the past, with Windows XP
you would have to hold down the Print Screen key or a combination of
the Print Screen Key and the Alt key to “Print Screen” anything on
the desktop (See Tech Tips: Screen Prints with the Print Screen Key). With the Vista Snipping Tool
all you have to do is:
1. Click on the Windows Start button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
2. Click on All Programs, then Accessories and open the Snipping Tool.

3. When the Snipping Tool appears click New.
4. Now use the + sign to drap a square around the area you want to “snip”.
5. After you choose the area the Snipping Tool automatically pastes the
highlighted area in Paint. Now you can save it on your computer or e-mail the “snipped” picture to someone.
